UVICOAT #4500 is a UV radiation curable paint based on modified acrylic for open to close cell coatings. It provides fast curing, excellent adhesion, scratch and abrasion resistance, staining resistance, very good chemical and mechanical property.
Designed to be used as topcoat for high quality furniture, plywood and floor panels, MDF etc.
Appearance – Transparent /Matt
Specific Gravity (25ºC) – 0.970 +/- 0.030
Viscosity FC #4 (25ºC) – 20 – 30 sec.
Solid Content – 40% +/- 0.5%
Flash Off – 5 – 7 min.
Coverage – 60 – 90 gm/m2
Curing Speed – 5 – 7m/min. – 3 – 4 lamps: irradiation – Distance: 15cm, lamp power; 80 – 120 kw/cm
Application Condition – Air temperature 5ºC Relative Humidity 85% max.
Application Method – Spray
Thinner Ratio – UV Thinner #405 (5-10%)
- Substrate should be free from contaminant such as oil and dust, etc.
- Moisture content of timber should be kept below 15%.
- Surface to be coated with UVISEAL range with proper interim sanding.
