PRECATALYZED LACQUER

PRECATALYZED LACQUER is a lacquer clear and pigmented topcoat formulated to give a better hardness, smooth and silky finish and good adhesion to wood.

Recommended to open pored or semi open pored wood in a NC coating system.  Not recommended to use for external purposes as it may change the colour in time.

Appearance – Clear, Pigmented 

Viscosity (FC#4) – Clear 20-25”, Pigmented 30-35”

Specific weight (kg/L) – Clear 0.95, Pigmented 1.20

Volume solid (%) –  Clear 35, Pigmented 40

Flash point (ºC) – Clear 20, Pigmented 22

Gloss – Clear 10-50, Pigmented 10-50

Drying time @ 25ºC – Dust free Clear 5-10 min. Pigmented 5-10 min., Touch dry Clear 20-30 min. Pigmented 20-30 min., Sandable Clear 30-40 min. Pigmented 30-40 min, Fully dry Clear 6-8 hrs. Pigmented 6-8 hrs.

  • PRECATALYZED LACQUER is applied by using a conventional spray gun after diluting by 20 to 30% with NC Thinner #115/215.
  • When applied by curtain coater.  The product must be diluted to a viscosity of 20” Ford cup #4 to keep viscosity constant, periodically add thinner #115/215 to the curtain coater bath.

Apply at a maximum rate of 120 gm/m2 if the temperature on working area and humidity too high, add 3 – 5 % of Retarder Thinner to the product
