ISOLATOR #185 is an isolating primer based on saturated polyester resin and poly-functional isocyanate polymers.

ISOLATOR 185 gives a very closed cross-linking able to block tannin and moisture contained in the wood. It can be use not only as impregnating primer or isolator for polyester but also where is responsible humidity and adverse organic salts in the knots that may interfere to the goodness of the materials are present.

Application – Brush and Conventional Spray

Conventional Spray – Nozzle Orifice 2 – 3 mm, Nozzle Pressure 43 – 57 psi,

Dilution – Not Recommended

 

 

ISOLATOR #185 is normally applied by spray (but it can be applied also by curtain coater) when you have to insulate a stained wood or when humidity may interfere with catalysis of polyester.  If you have to insulate palisander or walnut veneer, or wood very rich in tannic acid, it will necessary to apply the polyester varnish after 5 – 6 hours or after 24 hours with previous sanding.
