HYDROPRIME 1000 is a self-cross-linking water-based pigmented primer for interior/exterior wood coating. It is developed to provide a hard film but excellent sandability, high flexibility and environment friendly.

HYDROPRIME 1000 is mainly used as a basecoat for all types of water-based topcoat (PU/Acrylic dispersion), and for all wood surfaces, thick woods, veneer, MDF, Bamboo canes and the like.

        Appearance – White

        Specific gravity – 1.089

        Viscosity (25ºC,FC #4) – 50 – 60 sec.

        VOC – 65 g/L

        Gloss – Matt

        Diluent – Water

        Application Condition – Air Temperature 5 – 35ºC, Relative Humidity
        Max. 85%

        Application Method – Brush, Airless (or) Electrostatic Spray.

        Drying Time(25ºC) – Dust-free 20 – 30 minutes, To touch 45 – 60 minutes, To recoat 1 – 2 hours, Sandable – 2 – 3 hours

        Coating rate – 8-10 m2/L (Coverage will vary depending on porosity of surface).

        Two (2) coats may be sufficient for the ordinary finish, allow 1 – 2 hours drying between coats, light sanding with 400 or 600 grit sand paper is recommended when recoating time exceeds 8 hours and ensure to remove traces of wax.

        • The mixture is ready for use and can be applied by brush or spray.  The surface to be coated must be free of dirt and other contaminants.  In the remaking of old woods, it is imperative to remove traces of wax, dirt and other oily matter to ensure perfect adhesion of paints.
        • HYDROPRIME 1000 can be diluted with 5 – 10% with clean demineralized water, and allow to dry for an hour before sanding to remove any raised grain.
        • Ensure that HYDROPRIME 1000 is applied uniformly and never leave an unsealed surface to avoid moisture.

            HYDROPRIME 1000 has a good resistance without additives.  It is resistant to chemical agent stabilize from Level 1-B DIN 68861 part 1.  To improve the HYDROPRIME 1000 does not contain heavy metal and therefore, it can be used for toys in accordance with European Std’d EN 71-3 for Toy Security.

            The drying room temperature should not be lower than 15ºC and the humidity must be less than 85ºC.  If the condition is beyond the required temperature, the possibility of slow drying smooth film and less chemical resistance.  It is recommended for a good dry by force drying without humidity starting from normal temperature up to 30ºC.
