PU Primer #153 White

PU PRIMER #153 WHITE is a polyurethane pigmented undercoat based on saturated poly-functional polyesters and selected pigments. A two-component material with outstanding characteristics, filling well pores of all types of woods. It has good sanding qualities, which reduces the number of coats required.

Shelf life 12 months minimum if stored below 25°C.
PU PRIMER #153 WHITE and Catalyst #004 do not contain dangerous solvents, nevertheless, good ventilation in working rooms is recommended as well as the use of safety tools and equipment. PU PRIMER #153 WHITE is flammable and harmful if swallowed. If contact with eyes or skin occurs, wash well with fresh water and seek immediate medical advice.
PU PRIMER #153 WHITE is primarily used for all types of woods furniture sets, turned pieces.

Viscosity(25°C) – 20 – 30 poise (Sp#4;60rpm)

Flash Point – 21°C

Non-Volatile (Wt.%) – Base: 76+/-0.5 – Catalyst: 24+/-0.5

VOC Content – 600 g/L

Application condition:

  • Air temperature – 5 – 35°C
  • Relative Humidity – 85% max.

Application Method – Brush, Spray or Roller

Recommended Catalyst – Catalyst #004

Thinner – PU Thinner #105/205

Mixing Ratio – Base 100 Cat. 50 – Thinner 25-30

Pot Life (20°C) – 2 – 4 hours

Drying time (20°C)

  • Dust free – 20 – 30 min.
  • Touch free – 35 – 45 min.
  • Recoat – 2 – 3 hrs.
  • Hard – 24 – 36 hrs.
  • Sandable – 2 – 3 hrs.

Coverage – 120 – 150 gms/m ²

Recoating – Minimum 30 min. – max. 3 hrs. medium sanding with 240/360 mesh sand paper is recommended before subsequent coat is needed.

  • To the surface well prepared, apply 1-2 coats of PU PRIMER #153 WHITE with Catalyst #004. Vertically and horizontally.
  • Fill all cracks, deep holes and joints with polyester putty.
  • Sand the surface with medium-grade sand paper.
  • Apply 1-2 coats of PU PRIMER #153 WHITE prior to the final sanding and top coating.
  • In case PU  PRIMER #153 WHITE  is used in curtain coating, the viscosity of the lacquer should be carefully controlled and monitored for  continuity of the finish.
