MAS CHALKBOARD PAINT is a water-based matt finish effect for interior that allows end users to create a writeable – erasable surface. It can be applied to wood, metal, concrete surfaces, paperboard and hardwood. It is specially produced with slate-like materials and provides a perfect surface for chalk writing on walls, tables and other areas where it can serve its purpose.

Application Method – Brush, roller, spray

Steel:
Remove loose paint and rust with a wire brush or sandpaper, Clean with soap and water, rinse and let dry.

Wood:
Sand the surface with 240 grit sandpaper prior to the application of a suitable primer. It is recommended to apply Hydroprime White to achieve a better basecoat. Fill up the uneven surface with Aquawood Filler and sand with 400 grit sandpaper before the application of MAS CHALKBOARD PAINT.

Application:
Mix thoroughly to ensure any settled pigment is re-dispersed. Thinning is not required. In hot and dry conditions, you may be thinned up to 5% of demineralized water to extend the drying time. Use a good quality synthetic brush or roller to achieve a smooth finish. Spray application is also recommended to have a uniform smooth finish. Avoid excessive brushing or rolling as it creates an orange peel effect.

A minimum of 2 coats is required for a perfect finish. After 3 days, MAS CHALKBOARD PAINT is ready for use. Before writing, condition the surface by rubbing the side with a piece of chalk over the entire area and erase. This will leave a coat of chalk, dust that will provide the best erasability. MAS CHALKBOARD PAINT can be wiped to clean with a damp cloth. Wait for 7 days after painting before wiping it down.

Drying:
The drying time room temperature should not be lower than 200C and the humidity must be less than 50%. If the condition is beyond the required temperature, the possibility of slow drying smooth film and less chemical resistance. It is recommended for a good dry by force drying without humidity starting from normal temperature up to 300C.
